We recently discovered Lovedale Wedding Chapel & Reception Centre, and we have to admit… we are in love. This truly magical venue is set among the vineyards in the Hunter Valley, and it truly has everything a couple could need for their big day. We had a chat to the team at Lovedale, and here’s what they had to say. Also if you love this venue, you can book them here.
Happy reading xo
1. Would you mind telling us a little about your beautiful venue, the Lovedale Chapel?
Our property is in the Hunter Valley boutique vineyard area of Lovedale which offers 15 of the best vineyards in Hunter Valley wine country.
The area provides restaurants, cafes, and numerous accommodation within close proximity.
Couples love our venue for their ceremony as it’s the perfect setting for an intimate country wedding, the Chapel sits adjacent to our vineyard, the landscaped forecourt overlooks a dam & gazebo, there are numerous photo locations, it’s suitable for all civil and religious ceremonies, and the handcrafted Chapel pews seat 108 guests.
The Reception Centre opened 1st July 2014. It was purpose built to provide the couples and their guests complete privacy, in a relaxed, stress-free atmosphere.
The Reception Centre has a large deck on which your guests can enjoy drinks and canapés, overlooking the picturesque chapel, vineyard, gazebo, dam, bridge, and fountain garden. With views across the valley to Watagans and Brokenback Ranges, you can enjoy the many photo opportunities the Estate has to offer.
The reception centre provides panoramic views across the Hunter Valley vineyard area from every seat through large bi-fold glass doors, which lead out onto the deck. Ashlee, our Estate Manager will be on hand for every stage of your wedding; from your initial viewing to the departure on your wedding night. Ashlee will ensure your wedding runs smoothly, taking all concerns out of your day, and leaving you free to do nothing but enjoy the most important day of your lives.
Beverages can be supplied by the couple and served from our Bar by our Staff . All catering for our Receptions are by our specially selected caterer, which offer a complimentary Tasting of the couples chosen menu/package.
2. What sort of wedding suits the Lovedale Wedding Chapel & Reception Centre?
We feel our venue suits all types of weddings as our reception space is left as a blank canvas so couples are able to really make the reception their own and can DIY style or source a decorator to do all the work for them. The venue can be styled in a rustic, boho or high end theme but also looks great just with a little simple styling also.
3. What are some of the key highlights of your venue? (i.e. accommodation, ability for couples to supply their own beverages, etc)
Couples are able to BYO beverages which is a huge saving. We are also an all-in-one wedding venue with the chapel for ceremonies, reception centre and our three cottages for accommodation, all located within a few metres from each other. When the property is booked by a couple the property remains exclusively theirs on the day with no other wedding being held on the property, offering complete privacy and a relaxed environment.
4. The Hunter Valley is really an all-year destination, what in your opinion is the best time to get married in the Hunter?
The best time we feel is March/April/May and September/October, the vines are full of leaves and looking lush with all of our roses in full bloom.
5. Could you give us an example of a great way a Couple has utilised your venue?
When couples book the complete package – chapel/reception/cottages they come in the day before and check in to the cottages, then they complete their reception set up, after this we head down to the chapel to do their rehearsal and after this couples tend to go out for their celebratory wedding eve dinner at one of the award winning restaurants close by and come back to the cottages to stay the night, and then on the morning of their wedding they have their hair and makeup artists come in and get ready for their big day, they then can either choose to stay they night of their wedding in our cottages or the cottages can be used for friends/family. The following day when they check out of the cottages they then can come down to the reception to pick up there left over beverages. Our venue offers couples a complete package where they can have their entire wedding in the one location, within a relaxed, private and picturesque property. There are also many photo opportunities to take advantage of on the property, whether that be around the chapel, among the vines, our bridge, the dam or among the trees.
6. You have some on-site accommodation, where else can guests stay nearby?
There are many venues to choose from if couples need alternative accommodation for their guests with around 15 or so properties located within a short 5-10min drive from our venue. If couples want larger group accommodation for their guests to stay together i would recommend Soveriegn Hill Vineyard.
7. What in your opinion is the best thing about getting married in the Hunter Valley?
Reasonable/Competitive rates. Picturesque/scenic views and atmosphere. Award winning wines/vineyards and lots of activities for couples and their guests to do on they’re weekends such as; wine tours, horse riding, hot air ballooning and dining out.
